Meet the voice behind the camera
Bill Sherman, Owner
Since childhood I've always enjoyed meeting new people and connecting with others. However, what really inspires me is discovering people's unique story and learning about their history. For 20 years, I’ve enjoyed using video and other media to tell stories about people. My favorite stories are the ones focused on the diverse characters and unique culture that make up our great state of Louisiana.
Good storytelling is an art. Communicating compelling stories requires a number of elements including a command of the subject, timing, style and an innate creativity. Almost anybody can shoot and produce video; however, there is a distinct difference separating ordinary, everyday videos from videos that resonate with viewers - videos that command attention. Storytelling requires a sense of empathy, an ability to connect to others, qualities that have propelled my career as a broadcaster, producer and communicator.
From the early 1990’s, I’ve moved all across the media stage and into Sherman Video Productions. Below is a summary of my experience.
1993 – Speech Communication Degree, LSU
1994-1996 – Assistant Promotions Director, WAFB
1996-1999 – Reporter, Photographer, Producer & Anchor, WAFB
1999-2008 – Director of Broadcast Services, La Farm Bureau
2009-2016 – Launch Media, Producer & Account Manager (Combination of contract work and full-time employee)
2001 - Current - Sherman Video Productions, Owner
2018 - Current - Director of Media Services, Office of Lt. Governor
